NeuLife Rehab Honors September 11, 2001
It is with somber respect that NeuLife Rehab in Mount Dora, Florida honors September 11, 2001, also known as “9-11.” We recognize that the country will always have 9-11 indelibly engraved upon its memory. NeuLife Rehab venerates all of the survivors of September 11 as well as those who perished.
On September 11, 2001, a series of coordinated attacks occurred on United States soil. The attacks specifically targeted United States landmarks, including the World Trade Center in New York City.
Many innocent individuals lost their lives, and many others sustained devastating, catastrophic injuries, multiple trauma and other injuries needing acute care. Survivors, even individuals not physically injured, were exposed to sights of death and destruction. Among the outgrowths were cognitive disorders, such as post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD).1
The events that occurred on 9-11 alerted us to the need for greater vigilance to the challenges on the world stage; only that attention would ensure continued independence. That is not unlike the way in which NeuLife Rehab rehabilitates Clients to regain independence after what they may have perceived as a tragedy to the fullest extent that his or her physical and mental abilities permit.
Becoming a Client of NeuLife Rehab and undergoing the innovative post-acute care that it offers is a critical start down the road to independence. Because of these occurrences, our Clients may have lost all or an element of their sense of independence, and life may seem like it will be forever different. It is NeuLife Rehab’s mission to assist them in regaining independence to the fullest extent that their physical and mental condition permit.
